Macs can write to NTFS volumes now

I just recently bought a portable hard drive that was formatted with the NTFS filesystem and I was wondering if there was a way to write to the drive with my mac.  Well, not natively, Macs can only read such a filesystem, but fear not!  Go to MacGuy4.Us for the full solution.  Basically, you have to download two pieces of software (one if you already have Parallels Desktop installed).  For an added bonus, the new extension, NTFS 3G, you install will give the Disk Utility application the option to partition a drive with NTFS

Printing from Parallels Desktop

Last month I installed Windows 7 in Parallels Desktop on my mac but I could not print anything.  I even installed the correct driver from my CD to no avail.  Then I remembered that I had to configure Parallels Desktop itself.  The instructions on how to configure it are below:

SOLUTION:

• Look at the bottom of the window to the right and you'll see a printer icon.
• Select it and now simply choose your printer in the pull-down menu.

Virtual Switch Networking

For a while now I've been having an error message every time I launch Virtual PC for Mac.  I really never really looked into it because I've never had any actual problema with the software.  After I started this class I decided I would finally look for solutions for these problems.  The problem I am referring to is Virtual Switch Networking not being able to start (the error code it also gave me was A1004).  It was yesterday when I did a search on code: A1004 and it told me to upgrade the software to 7.0.2 (I have 7.0 installed).


There is now a newer update (7.0.3) which is now installed.  All is now fine
